our prehistoric ancestors  had an intuitive mind, which is often described as  a gut reaction. in those days, a quick response was critical for survival.  menacing animals, other tribes,  dangerous weather changes,  and a host of other threats, instigated the flight or fight instinct.

While their intuitive mind  was critical for survival in their environment,  that same mind is frequently problematic in ours.  this is frequently evidenced in the bad decisions we make based upon intuitions rather than facts.   Such as; choosing the wrong relationships,  falling for misleading advertising,  making unhealthy choices,  spur of the moment political choices, poor financial decisions, etc.

the opposite of intuitive thinking is critical thinking based on facts and science.   a few examples are  required  in mathematics, science,  accounting, physics
